Technical Management

Unicorn Shipping’s professional Technical Management team operates out of Grindrod House in Durban, South Africa. It comprises mostly of long-serving as seafarers and is well experienced and equipped to perform the technical management of the Group’s wet and dry fleets.

We recognize that maintaining high Safety, Health and Environmental standards is the first and foremost in all of our operations and that well maintained and properly-equipped vessels with experienced and motivated crews is essential to our success.

Unicorn Shipping’s Technical Management team is responsible for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, maintenance and Dry Docking, Crewing, Training and Purchasing functions. The team also manages all aspects of Unicorn Shipping’s New Building program from drafting of specifications, selection of ship building yards, approval of design, selection of ship’s equipment, to ensuring on-site supervision and acceptance of delivery.
